Marae Auahi Kore

The Marae Auahi Kore programme is designed to assist and support Marae to achieve Auahi Kore status. Having your Marae smoke-free assists in the protection of your tamariki, mokopuna, whānau, kaimahi and manuhiri from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke. Making your Marae Auahi Kore is a positive step towards making your marae a place of whānau ora.
 
The Marae Auahi Kore programme aims to:
  1. Support and guide Marae on the development and implementation of total Marae Auahi Kore
  2. Provide Auahi Kore resources to support the kaupapa
  3. Support existing programmes that promote Marae Auahi Kore
  4. Maintain and develop relationships with Iwi, Marae, Māori Health workers and organisations as well as mainstream organisations able to support the kaupapa.
  5. Explore opportunities to promote other kaupapa hauora on the marae
