Kaiwhakahaere Auahi Kore
Tihei Mauri ora!
My main responsibilities are: Auahi Kore Manager with a key focus on building relationships with national Smokefree organisations to ensure we have healthy policies affecting Māori, however I especially enjoy working with our national Māori organisations who are working with our whānau, hapū and iwi.
I am passionate about: Reducing the smoking amongst our Māori women in particular our pregnant mothers and encouraging our rangatahi not to start! It’s about protecting our future generations – building a strong and healthy culture.
My vision is: TE IRA TANGATA – Unleashing the potential of our culture!
It’s about a healthy and educated culture - To see our future generations born "auahi kore - smokefree – drug-free - alcohol free" and to have the opportunity to lead successfully and proudly.
A key event in my calendar: To travel back to my koroua’s whenua – Aotea.
