Rere mai te maramara koi hopiri, koi hotau.
Rere mai te mangamanga, koi hopiri, koi hotau.

E ngā iwi o te motu, tēnā koutou katoa
Nau mai, Haere mai

E ngā iwi o te motu, tēnā koutou katoa

Te Hotu Manawa Māori has been an independent national organisation since 1997, and was given it's name by Tuhoe kaumātua Tawhao Tioke. The word "hotu" refers to a particular sob or cry that characterised traditional Maori singing (as exemplified by the vocal style of the legendary Ana Hato). "Manawa" refers to Te Hotu Manawa Māori's focus - Māori heart health.

Te Hotu Manawa Māori delivers health services "by Māori for Māori", providing solutions tailored to meet the needs of Māori. In doing so, Te Hotu Manawa Māori reinforces the principles and values of both tikanga and kaupapa Māori imperatives.

VISION
Kia tino rangatira ai te hauora o te ao Māori.
Māori determine for themselves their health and wellbeing.

MISSION STATEMENT
Te Hotu Manawa Māori is committed to providing leadership in promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy environments to achieve Māori heart health.
